As part of our aim to be a centre of excellence for the development of young people we are committed to training & developing those people who work directly with them such as volunteers, teachers and youth workers. We can design an event for a whole department or team. Additionally, we run a number of workshops that are generally run at cost, recent examples include workshops called’ Working at the Edge’ specifically designed to share and develop good practiceamongst people working in outdoor education with challenging young people and we are soon to host our Festival of Outdoor Learning. In addition we will shortly be running some regional workshops in partnership with the Institute of Outdoor Learning (IOL).
The Hollowford Centre many years experience in facilitating teambuilding and personal development events. All events are designed around your desired outcomes. A mix of outdoor exercises are combined with indoor discussions to help maximum learning. At Hollowford we adopt the principle of 'Challenge by Choice', whereby individuals might be actively encouraged to have a go, but we are very careful that they never feel forced. Many groups choose to undertake multi-task scenarios, where small groups complete different tasks - some of which are physically challenging, others mentally taxing! Such events can be run at a venue & location to suit you. |
