Permanent Full Time Instructor

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced outdoor activity instructor to join our friendly and exceptionally skilled team.

This is a full time post: 37 ½ hour, 25 days holiday and 8 bank holidays.

Working hours are irregular and can involve longer hours, include some weekends and evenings, for which lieu is accrued.

Salary £18,000 – £24,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Essential experience and qualifications:

  • Typically 5+ years of instructional work with a variety of groups. An excellent facilitator of learning, with lots of experience of reviewing and relating learning back to life / work situations.
  • A range of NGB qualifications that must include a Single Pitch Award and either a BCU coach level 2 or Local Cave and Mine Leader.
  • D1 entitlement to drive minibus and tow trailers is also essential.
  • Additional qualifications such as Mountain Leader Summer, Archery GB, Mountain biking are desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS.

Seasonal contract: Outdoor Activity Instructors

From early June to mid August – approximately 45 days over an eight week period
Pay: depending on employment status, level of experience and qualifications, daily rate ranging from £75 to £115

Lindley Educational Trust is looking for a number of energetic, positive and motivated instructors, hungry to develop their skills, to join our team for the busy 2018 season.

Lindley Educational Trust is a well-established charity based in the Peak District. Primarily based at the Hollowford Centre in Castleton we also operate from various venues throughout Derbyshire. Offering a mixture of on & off site activities to schools, youth groups and young employees. We are committed to delivering high quality learning and development.

We have been delivering National Citizen Service (NCS) courses for the past 8 years and have an excellent reputation for providing high quality programmes and facilities. With most of our NCS courses accommodated at campsites either in the Hope Valley or near Marple, Stockport, we are looking for a number of enthusiastic instructors willing go the extra mile to make sure that the young people get the most out of their NCS experience.

The role will primarily be the safe and enjoyable delivery of outdoor education and personal development experiences but you will also undertake all aspects of work related to day to day operations.

Essential experience

  • Have worked with a variety of young people’s groups undertaking outdoor education
  • Helping young people learn through experience
  • Leading activities including; problem solving, orienteering, high ropes and bushcraft

Desirable qualifications

  • Single pitch award
  • Mountain leader award
  • BCU UKCC level 2
