Cleaning Operative-Part Time

Due to business expansion Lindley Educational Trust Ltd are looking to add to their housekeeping team and are recruiting Permanent Part Time Cleaning Operatives.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Ensuring all areas of the Centre are clean and tidy-to include mopping, toilet and bathroom cleaning, washing walls and floors, vacumming, emptying bins and dusting.
  • Servicing accommodation, preparing meeting rooms and ensuite bunk bedded accommodation, washing laundry and activity kit.
  • Liaising with other staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Presenting yourself in a professional manner, which includes dress, appearance and courtesy.

Please note this role will be physically challenging and involves manual handling activities.

About You:

  • Previous cleaning experience is desired, but not essential.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are essential to communicate with customers and managers and comply with Health & Safety regulations.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and organise their own time on occasion.

Applicants must be:

  • Hard working and reliable
  • Be willing to undertake a DBS check
  • Be prepared for ongoing training which may include First Aid, COSHH training, Manual Handling.

Pay and Benefits:

  • 15 – 18 hours per week, flexible working patterns available.
  • Based at Hollowford Centre, Castleton
  • Pay dependent on experience
  • 33 days holiday pro-rata
  • Pension scheme

We are looking to expand our freelance instructor team 

 

Lindley Educational Trust (LET) is based at the Hollowford Centre, Castleton in Derbyshire.  LET is a successful and well-established charity which has been helping young people for over 50 years.  In addition to Hollowford, LET runs 2 urban youth projects (East Manchester and Sheffield) which provide exciting opportunities to be involved in long term outdoor projects.   Much of LET’s work takes place at the Hollowford Centre, but we also work at several other venues across Derbyshire and further afield.   

LET works with a wide variety of groups that includes: schools, youth groups, colleges, universities, and businesses.  Each programme is tailored to meet the desired outcomes of the group and involves a range of stimulating / adventurous activities that can include: caving, climbing, hill walking, canoeing, high ropes, bushcraft, problem solving, and mountain biking plus a whole host of other activities.    

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced outdoor activity instructors to work within our friendly and exceptionally skilled team with a national reputation for innovative practice. 

Essential experience and qualifications: 

Typically, 5 + years of instructional experience with a variety of groups, experience of Personal and Social Development programmes for young employees would be useful.  An excellent facilitator of learning, with lots of experience of reviewing and relating learning back to life / work situations.  Operating at APIOL standard. 

A range of qualifications that must include as a minimum of 2 of these NGB awards: Rock Climbing Instructor or BCU coach level 2 or Local Cave and Mine Leader.  

Being able to drive a minibus is essential (ie: over 25 years of age and held a full UK license for 2 years or more).  D1 entitlement to drive minibus and tow trailers is desirable.   

Additional qualifications such as Mountain Leader Summer, Archery GB, Mountain biking are desirable. 

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS
